Blink XT2 FAQ
What is the Blink XT2?
The Blink XT2 is the next generation of the XT and offers new and improved features such as two-way audio, customizable motion detection, double battery usage, and live view recording.
Does the Blink camera require WiFi?
Yes. Since they are wireless, WiFi is a requirement for operation.
Will my XT covers fit the XT2?
No, the XT covers do not have a hole in the bottom for the speaker that is on the XT2. New covers are being produced specifically for the XT2, however, at this time we do not have any other details on the release. Stay tuned to Blink for Home for more details.
I just purchased a Blink XT system will the Blink XT2 camera work with this?
Yes the XT2 will work with your existing Blink System as it uses the same sync module. You can have up to 10 Blink devices per sync module as long as they are all within the 100ft operating range of the sync module in any direction. The cameras on the sync module can be in any combination.
Why can’t I purchase the Blink XT anymore?
The Blink XT2 is the next generation of the XT and offers new and improved features such as two-way audio, customizable motion detection, double battery usage, and live view recording, all for an even lower price! We believe this is the best option for our customers and have shifted our production to XT2.
Do I need a new/additional Sync module?
No. If you have an existing Blink system, simply use the add device function in the Blink App to add XT2. If you are new to Blink, you need to pre-order one of the system configurations.
Why is one of my blink cameras not working?
If one of your Blink cameras isn’t responding, you may see error messages like “Camera Busy” or “Thumbnail Failed”. These messages can happen if your Sync Module isn’t able to communicate with that camera.
The Sync Module relays commands and network details to devices in your system. Blink cameras enjoy longer battery life because the Sync Module stays available. An always-on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi internet connection is required for motion alerts, Live View sessions, and product updates.
